    Somniosus microcephalus
This is a large species of shark, which can get as long as 24 feet long, with the dimensions like the Great White. This is Somniosidae (sleeper shark) also grows slowly due to the cold environment.
This species eats mostly fish and seals, and have been known to scavenge.  These sharks are also covered by a bioluminescent parasitic copepods that eat away at the sharks eye tissue causing the sharks greenish appearance in dark waters.
The Greenland Shark has also been called the Gurry, Gray shark, or by the Inuit's Equalussuaq.   It is the thickest body, short rounded snout, with thin, pointed and wide, square teeth, small fins and eyes, sometimes with a pale stripe on the flank.
The Greenland Shark can live from cold waters and has been spotted as far south as the Gulf of Mexico during the cold months. It has been recorded down to a depth 3900 feet and have been spotted at double that depth, seeking its preferred cold temperature. It is the only species of shark that is known to stay for extended periods in freshwater.
