This auction is for a used Rawlings Baseball Glove model PRO206-9JB fielder’s glove, for a right-handed thrower.  This glove features Rawlings’ industry standard Heart of the Hide (HOH) leather, long known as the leather of choice for major league ballplayers.  It is a 12” open back pattern with a 2-piece solid web, padded thumb sleeve and moisture-wicking wrist pad.  The glove features deer tanned cowhide palm lining which provides exceptional protection, and Tennessee Tanning Company rawhide laces – the best in the industry.  It is a classic pro-design with rolled welting, black leather and white stitching, an index finger pad, red embroidery and the traditional white on scarlet Rawlings patch.
With a medium deep pocket and solid web, this is a very versatile glove that can work well for both pitching and infield, and even cover outfield as well if worn with “two in the pinky.”  This glove is a popular choice for players who pitch and play many different fielding positions because the web not only works well for grounders and fly balls, but it also helps hide the ball to prevent tipping pitches.  I’ve found it to be a secure, reliable glove for multiple positions, as balls just naturally stay in the pocket, perfect for one-handed grabs, yet allowing for ease of transfer from glove to hand for relays and double plays.  If you make an error with this glove it won’t be the fault of the glove!
