Hand Blown Black Glass Ale or Beer Bottle

Up for auction, is a very nice early to mid 19th Century Olive green beer or ale bottle. This beautiful color glass is also known as black glass. This bottle has all of the telltale signs of being antique glass. It has the crooked neck it's cruelly made and hand blown also known as free blown or mouth blown. There is plenty of irregularities and imperfections in the glass, as it should be. Not to mention I've had it in my collection, for over 20 years.There are oval shaped bubbles and stretch marks, from when the hot molten glass, was being cooled down then hand applied finished. This bottle has the push-up also known as a kick-up or shove-up base with the polished pontil. This stands at 9 7/8'' tall x 2 1/4''wide you can still see and smell the old remnants and contents in the bottle, with a very pleasant smell. I might add, this piece has no chips, breaks, cracks or flea bites it is in excellent condition. Thank you for taking the time to look at our auction.
