GREAT WHITE SHARK statue 28 inch long w base

Item up for bid is a ONE OF A KIND, newly finished, original piece, a highly reworked version of an old statue model of a
GREAT WHITE SHARK
. The statue was originally a model kit that was loosely trying to depict the shark in the movie JAWS, but now more accurately represents a realistic and life-like shark.
The original epoxy resin model was filled with an injected foam and is not as heavy as a solid one would have been. The re-sculpted areas are: minor details and shapes of the fins, added epoxy claspers, and a totally re-sculpted head.
The entire sculpt was then finished and hand painted with acrylic enamels and spray coated and sealed. Sharks were studied and the statue was painted to be as accurate to real white sharks as possible, complete with a dark grey upper and very light white lower body, all with a slight, almost metallic sheen, which captures the way light catches and changes on the scale-like dermal denticles of a real shark. Much time was taken to make this unique effect look as real as possible for a great display piece.
The statue is 28 inches long from nose to tail, and it's height from the bottom of it's felt lined resin base, is about 14 inches total, off any display surface to the tip of the dorsal fin. The pectoral fins are fixed and not removable, and make the shark almost 15 inches wide from fin tip to fin tip. The sealed resin base is 7.5 x 7.5 inches square, and again is lined with felt to not scratch a display surface. The shark itself rests on a clear, round, plastic rod that inserts partly into the base, and partly into the belly of the shark for a few inches. All pieces can be taken apart for storage, and shipping and will be shipped apart.
The mouth is fixed closed and only a few teeth are visible. This was done to show the wonderful lines of the Great White when it swims normally under water. See last photo to see how closely it resembles a real shark!
The 7 inch NECA Quint figure from JAWS is NOT included
. It was only used to give it some scale.
