BLACK GLASS WHISKEY BOTTLE-Very Odd Lip-Ring Bottom-1860s
Offered is a selection consisting of one vintage Civil War Period Black Glass Whiskey bottle dating between 1850 and 1860.The bottle is Hand Blown In Mold manufacture style with a applied cork top finish(BIM).The lot includes:
1)—An 11 1/4" tall, black glass whiskey bottle, having a three piece mold manufacture style,a very unusual crudely applied champagne style lip, not the usual tapered collar seen on these types bottles. Color could be described as a very dense greenish moss brown. Bottom embossed with concentric rings and raised dot.The shape of this bottle is identical to the "Patent" whiskies from the same time period, except for the unusual lip.
The bottle has been dug and has light ground hazing and inside dirt.
