Description
This is an early pontiled Colonial Period blackglass mallet rum bottle from the 1740-1770 period....It is free blown with no mold seams....round with tall straight sides, shaped like an early wood mallet....jagged open pontil in deep sunken bottom....crude sheared lip with drippy layed on ring collar....olive green blackglass....8 1/4"tall x 4 1/2"round.....excellent condition with no chips or damage. A dug bottle with some normal light haze. An area of light surface scratches on one side....
